Unus Mundus e Candomblé

Unus Mundus and Candomblé: Connecting Roots and Identities

We live in times when understanding our roots and the connections we have with the world around us becomes increasingly vital. The concept of "Unus Mundus" offers us a profound perspective, helping us understand not only psychological aspects but also the political, philosophical, and cultural dimensions that shape our lives. This idea invites us to reflect on the totality of human experience and to recognize our collective responsibility in times of crisis. In the current context, marked by deep and systematic challenges, "Unus Mundus" becomes a lens through which we can see the need to act and connect with something greater. It is a call for us to experience this totality so that we can better understand the society we live in and the role we play within it. One of the rich and significant ways to explore this concept is through \"Candomblé.\" This worship, which venerates the \"Orixás\" as direct manifestations of \"Olorun,\" the Supreme Creator, offers us a rich cultural and spiritual tapestry. The practice of Candomblé invites us to enter a universe where the forces of nature and the cosmos interconnect, allowing us to reconnect with our own identities. In this Working Group held last month, we compared the development of identity within Candomblé with the process of individuation, a fundamental concept in psychology. While Candomblé celebrates diversity and connection with the Orixás, the individuation process calls us to find our own essence, integrating various experiences and aspects of ourselves I invite you to dive into this fascinating topic through the video, where we explore more deeply the intersections between Unus Mundus and Candomblé, and how these concepts can guide us in our journey of self-discovery and collective responsibility. Watch now and come reflect on the richness of our roots and identities!
